Greg Williams was born in Rockford, Illinois where he grew up and graduated
from West High School. After performing for 4 years as a
professional drummer, he moved to Florida in 1974 where he became
involved in Hospital Management.

During his 15-year career in Hospital and Hotel Management he authored
and taught numerous Training Books, Technical manuals and Development
programs for Companies such as ServiceMaster Industries, Holiday Inn Inc.
and The University of Miami.

While living in Florida during the 1980’s he learned Spanish and became
involved with Multi-Cultural activities. During this time he wrote, published
and taught Facilities Management programs at Miami Children’s Hospital and
The University of Miami in both English and Spanish. During the 1990’s he
traveled extensively to countries such as Honduras, Chile, Peru and
Colombia, training government employees in Hospital and
Facilities Management.

In 1993, after suffering a serious back injury; he became partially disabled,
losing his career, family and home. From 1994 to 1996 he was unemployed
and homeless while suffering from depression and struggling to live near his
children in Florida.

During this time he became involved with the Christian ministry at his church
and volunteered to travel to the Philippines to assist in missionary work there.
Only days after arriving in the Philippines he was kidnapped and held for
ransom by Abu Sayyaf rebels, Al Qaeda’s cell in the Philippines. After
Thirteen days of captivity and torture he escaped certain death when he
was liberated in a surprising and miraculous twist of fate.

In 2001 he began writing about many of his experiences including the
kidnapping.
“13 Days of Terror – A True Story” is the story of his
kidnapping in the Philippines and the spiritual journey that led him there.

Greg now resides in Rockford, Illinois and continues to be
involved with the Christian ministry in the U.S. and in the Philippines as an
inspirational speaker and author.
